Our Business

BACKGROUND

Stout Co., Ltd.  is an Asia Pacific corporation formed in 1987 and registered in Hong Kong.  Regional focus is in telecommunications, energy and technical consultation in these areas.  The Regional  Headquarters of Stout Co., Ltd. was moved from Hong Kong in July of 1994 under the auspices of the Republic of the Philippines Executive Order – 226 (EO-226) for multinational Regional Headquarters and Warehouses.

Telecommunications:  Focus centers on structuring of strategic partner arrangements for U.S. Baby Bells in the region with successful activities in Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.  Additionally, technical consultation is provided in areas of network assessment and activities and information management solutions for the regulatory inter-enterprises.

Power Quality Equipment and Services:  SCL WorldNet, Inc. is the Asian Master distributor in the Philippines for the USA manufactured surge protection products of Innovative Technology. 

SCL WorldNet is also the distributor for:

• Harmonic mitigating transformers manufactured by MIRUS International, a Canadian company.
• Line conditioning equipment manufactured in the U.S.A. by CUTLER-HAMMER.
• DRANETZ-BMI Power Quality Monitoring analyzers

With annual sales of over US$500,000, SCL WorldNet is the market leader in these products in the Philippines. SCL has a dedicated power quality sales and technical support staff. 

 The SCL power quality team provides seminars, site surveys, installation and any after sales services as required.

KEY PERSONNEL

MR. ROBERT W. THOMPSON,

PRESIDENT AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mr. Thompson has served in his present position since establishment of the Company in January ’96.  Prior to this position, he was the Area VP for Marketing for Korea, Japan and Taiwan for Ferranti International and Program Manager for the Merdan Group.  Mr. Thompson completed 27 years in the US Army.

MR. STEPHEN D. JOHNSON,

SENIOR VP - OPERATIONS

Mr. Johnson has been associated with the Company since July 1997. He has lived in the Philippines for over 25 years, has owned, and managed several businesses in the Philippines. Mr. Johnson’s logistics, marketing and management background plus his hands on business experience make him a valued team member in SCL.

MR. RAMON MAGKASI,

VICE PRESIDENT - SALES AND MARKETING

Mr. Magkasi has been with the Company since January 1998.   He is an Electrical Engineer graduate of Far Eastern University and has been working in power protection related areas for over fifteen years. Mr. Magkasi has participated in numerous power quality-training programs conducted by Drantez-BMI and is directly responsible for the Power Quality Service division in SCL.

MR.   EMMANUEL M. BASABAS,

CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Basabas has over 30 years of experience in the accountancy field in various industries, both local and abroad, 5 years of which were in the banking sector in the Middle East. He joined the Company as Financial Consultant in March 2002 and was later appointed as a full-time Chief Financial Officer in May 2005.
